Today I am... PROUD!!
I am proud of myself for remembering my inner child and jumping into the pool with the kids and having a play. With the temperature hitting 39 degrees just after 1pm (when I checked, it was probably there earlier), I had been watching the kids on and off all day as they were in and out of the pool keeping cool.
I didn't want to get wet though. I still had a kitchen to clean, soap to cut (which failed miserably) and a hundred other things I wanted to accomplish. I didn't have time to stop and get WET.
Wrong!!
Something I am reminding myself of this year is that I must ALWAYS find time to have fun with my kids. I don't want to be remembered as the mum that was always stressed, busy, etc.
The pool is only thigh high on my, but Savannah's face when I stepped in was awesome. Diesel immediately went from being happy sitting on the edge to wanting in with me. After acclimatising to the water, I was able to "play horsey" with my head safely above water. Clearly the entire reason for me getting in was to become their horse so they could sit above the water line... /eyeroll.
Diesel took prime position on my back, throwing little clear stones into the water for Savannah to fetch. There was cuddles, tickles, splashing and LOTS of laughter.
Yay me for creating that memory!
